Sapphire, Linquist and Secret Harbor are all great.  See our Beach Guide for more recommendations

Yes, head to our Grocery page and click on the link provided.  Please try to order 2 weeks in advance.

Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook both have lots of little shops with something for everyone.  A place to definitely check out is Mountain Top – you’ll have the largest souvenir shop in St. Thomas, incredible views and the world’s first and most famous banana daquiri (and don’t be fooled … it’s made with a strong island pour!)

The sooner the better! In busy season, the best vendors sell out and we want to get you with the best.

Yes, most places in St. Thomas do take credit cards. But be sure you have cash for taxis, smaller beach bars and the few places that still only accept cash.

We recommend that everyone purchase travel insurance. It’s the best protection during hurricane season, but you never know when something will happen. Protect your vacation and buy the travel insurance.

St. Thomas is a very hilly island, we don’t have bike rental shops here. It’s not a walkable island either. The towns of Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook are walker friendly, but most of our roads don’t have sidewalks (heck, most don’t have street signs).

Most of our addresses are just plot markers, they will not get you to the property. We will supply you with Google Maps location pins or coordinates. Do not use any other map app, you will get lost. Our coordinates will get you to the property seamlessly.

You can take the passenger ferry or the car barge. If you take the car barge, you have the freedom to explore at your leisure (be sure your rental agency allows you to take the car to St. John). The passenger ferry comes back later at night so you can enjoy more time there, have a happy hour drink and dinner before coming back to St. Thomas. Once in St. John, there are taxis and open-air Safari vans to take you to the more popular spots.

St. Thomas and St. John are US Territories so a passport is not required. If you are traveling with young children who do not have photo ID, bring their birth certificate.  If you plan to go to the BVIs while visiting, you will need a passport, no exceptions.

Most days will be sunny with a chance of passing rain. Our temperatures range from mid 70’s to upper 80’s most of the time.

Yes, we sure do! The cars are set up for right-side driving, but we do drive on the left. The driver will get used to it much faster than the passengers!!

We do not have Uber or Lyft, but we do have the VI Taxi Association. You can see their rates here.  Be aware that they do charge per person, per direction.  Our concierge can also recommend a Driver for your time here.  A rental car provides the flexibility to explore the island’s more secluded areas, shop at your convenience and be on your own schedule.  But if you don’t want to drive, we have drivers that we can recommend.

Property Related FAQs

In most cases, the answer to this is no, it’s not possible. St. Thomas is not a very walkable island. If your property is located beachfront or walkable to the beach, it will say so in the listing. In most cases, you are only a short drive away from multiple beaches.

We will always try to get you in early and are happy to let you stay later when we can. During busy season, it’s nearly impossible. We will message you as soon as the property is ready so no need to inquire for early check in.

As mentioned above, we will message you as soon as your property is ready. But if you arrive early and have time to spend, there are plenty of things to do while waiting. Pack your bathing suit in your carryon and head to the beach, have lunch at a beach bar and decompress after a hectic day of travel, do grocery shopping (only if you arrive later in afternoon), do a quick island tour (if you’ve rented a car – go explore on your own. If you have a taxi – they can be hired for an island tour).

The water at most villas is triple filtered and passes through a UV light. It’s okay to use for cooking, brushing your teeth, showering, tea and coffee. We do recommend buying gallon jugs of water for drinking though.

All of our vacation rental properties come with WiFi, and in most cases you won’t have any issues. However, we are on an island that suffers from power outages and slower running WiFI at times. It doesn’t happen often, but if you absolutely need it for school or work, we recommend bringing a portable Wifi device to get you through an outage.

We supply dish soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent (if your property has a dishwasher), liquid hand soap, shower gel, starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels. Many of the kitchens are well stocked with spices, sugar, oil and vinegar, but none of those items are guaranteed. Before grocery shopping you may want to check for those items first.
